New Work!

I recently finished a custom pet portrait of an adorable pooch! I donated a gift certificate for a custom 11x14 oil paint pet portrait to the 2008 NC State SCAVMA (Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association) auction. The woman who bid on and won the gift certificate contacted me with the photos of her dog, and here's the finished portrait:

How cute is he?? :)

I have also finished several new wearable art pieces which I will be listing in my Etsy shop as the week goes on. Here are a few of my new designs.

Thanks For Your Help! :)

This past Sunday I asked for your help in this post on deciding what to do with some of my miniature paintings.

You were all full of great opinions and had so many kind words for me and my work. I really appreciate your help! Here are the finished products:

Help Me Create My Wearable Art

Why should art only be displayed on walls and shelves? My wearable art collection features pendant necklaces, rings, brooches, and bobby pins; art you can wear! I want your help in deciding what turn three of my resin-finished miniature paintings into. Each tiny acrylic painting is one-of-a-kind and signed by me on the back. Each one is created with high quality acrylic paints on a wooden tile. The paintings are then sealed on every surface, and then receive a high-gloss resin finish which gives it a very shiny and polished look. The finished effect is similar to that of a heavy glass piece, but it is actually very lightweight.

Here are the three original paintings:

1) Daisy Twins

2) Lenny The Leprechaun

3) Harvey On The Fence Posts

I want to know what you think. What should these miniature paintings become? Pendants? Brooches? Please leave a comment telling me what you would like to see me make. I'm listening. :)

Valentine's Day Is Swiftly Approaching

Another holiday is just around the corner; Valentine's Day! Etsy has already begun getting into the Valentine frame of mind. There have been numerous Valentine's Day and love-themed items on the front page lately, and I think it's fantastic! It's inspired me to add some Valentine-themed items to my shop.

New Projects - Wearable Art

In an effort to expand upon my existing line of wearable art pendant necklaces, I've decided to start creating wearable art rings, brooches, and bobby pins! Walls shouldn't be the only place that art can be displayed; why not display art around your neck, on your finger, in your hair, or on your shirt? I've already begun to list a few in my shop, and have more in the works. Here are a few new completed pieces:
